1099 Wound Care/Medical Device Sales Representative (Distributor Role)

Salary: contract-based; percentage of sales

About Us: At Engineered Tissue Solutions, we are a pioneer in bioactive glass wound care skin substitutes, dedicated to improving patient outcomes through advanced products and exceptional service. We are expanding our 1099 distribution network and seek motivated and experienced Distributors to join our team and drive growth in this novel field.

Role Overview: As a 1099 Distributor for our wound care products, Mirragen and MirraSurg, you will play a crucial role in expanding our market presence and building strong relationships with healthcare providers. Your responsibilities will include promoting bioactive glass wound care solutions, managing client accounts, and identifying new business opportunities. This role offers flexibility and independence while providing the support and resources needed to succeed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute sales strategies to increase market share for our wound care products.
  • Build and maintain relationships with healthcare professionals, including hospitals, clinics, and healthcare systems.
  • Conduct product presentations, demonstrations, and training sessions to educate customers on the benefits and usage of our products.
  • Manage and grow your customer base through effective account management and follow-up.
  • Provide market feedback and insights to our team to help shape product development and marketing strategies.
  • Achieve and exceed sales targets and performance metrics.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in medical sales, preferably in wound care or related fields.
  • Demonstrated year over year wound care sales growth.
  • Strong network within the healthcare industry and a track record of successful sales performance.

The following challenges await you:

General and Administrative:

  • Serve as a first point of contact for customers and field reps via phone and email
  • Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) with professionalism and integrity
  • Assist with preparing order status reports and tracking documentation
  • Support coordination of internal and external visits or meetings as needed
  • Support office administrative tasks as required

Customer Operations:

  • Set up and maintain customer records and data, including pricing, billing, and shipping preferences
  • Process inbound customer orders in the ERP system accurately and on time
  • Manage documentation related to pricing agreements, contracts, and IDNs/GPOs
  • Coordinate returns, credits, and replacements with internal teams
  • Track and confirm shipments, and ensure timely delivery of products

Customer Experience:

  • Provide responsive and courteous support to healthcare customers and sales representatives
  • Coordinate demo/sample/evaluation product requests and ensure timely fulfillment
  • Respond to questions about product availability, order status, and company processes
  • Assist with the preparation of monthly service metrics and team reporting
  • Escalate complex issues to senior team members or leadership as needed

Other:

  • Adhere to all federal, state and local laws. 
  • May perform other duties as assigned.
  • Use only approved corporate literature, scientific data and presentations when interacting with customers and potential customers.
  • Immediately forward customer feedback that may indicate a problem with any ETS product to Quality.
  • Perform activities according to applicable company QMS procedures

Your Profile:

  • High school diploma or equivalent (Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred)
  • 5+ years in customer service, or 5+ years in an office administration, logistics or similar role with a customer facing aspect
  • Experience in healthcare or a regulated industry a plus
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered

  • Support the Regional Sales Director (RSD) and Executive Area Managers (EAMs) in planning, coordinating, and executing sales activities, events, and training sessions.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for customers—resolving inquiries, facilitating orders, and ensuring timely follow-up and satisfaction.
  • Maintain accurate records of sales activities, account updates, and customer interactions in the CRM system.
  • Assist with market research, competitive analysis, and the collection of customer feedback to support sales strategy and product development.

Your Profile:

  • BS/BA in business, healthcare, or a related field or equivalent experience required.
  • 1–2 years of experience in sales support, customer service, or administrative roles, ideally in the healthcare or medical device industry.
  • 1-2 years of experience in the medical device, biotechnology, and tissue biologics of the healthcare industry preferred.
  • Experience supporting field sales teams, including scheduling, event coordination, and customer follow-up
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and familiarity with CRM platforms such as Salesforce or Microsoft Dynamics
  • Comfortable using virtual tools like Microsoft Teams for meetings and presentations
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation; flexibility to travel or work outside standard business hours as needed
  • Experience working in startup or mid-sized company environments
